Jakob joined the group as a PhD Student in February 2018. He wrote his Master Thesis in the quantum information group under the supervision of Prof. Reinhard Werner, where he studied semigroups of open quantum systems with non-Lindblad generators.

Currently, he works on conditional quantum states dynamics of macroscopic optomechanical systems. The idea is to reconstruct or predict the quantum state of a macroscopic object undergoing a continuous measurement. For this, Wiener filtering techniques are used and compared with the approach of solving stochastic Schroedinger equations.
